I have waited with a glacier's patience
Very appropriate on this beautiful, rainy day. Funny, never thought this Southern California girl would {or could} appreciate a rainy day, but there is something so serene about the rain. If only I could have Dustin O'Halloran playing at all times on days like today...

I love your long shadows and your gun powder eyes
This spread of Anouck Lepere by Pablo Delfos for Elle Begium {September 2010} is such a beautiful throw back to the sixties, while at the same time being completely modern. Especially love the last two- disheveled bangs, highlights and camel tones? I think I've just found my fall inspiration, d'accord?

As the season shifts lonely minds will drift
Finally got the internet up and running in our apartment, which means I can return to updating my little blog.. I so enjoy sharing some of my favorite things with my favorite people who are now so far away, and anyone else who may stumble upon this...
In love with this city already. So much to do and see at any hour of the day. Starting to feel at home, though undoubtedly there will always be new things to discover. For example, the amazing roof top of our apartment building, which is where some of my lovelies and I shared a glass {or two} of wine before exploring the gallery openings last Thursday. Also stumbled upon Tia Pol where we enjoyed one the the best dinners I have had in the city to date... Delicious Spanish food {and that Sangria....} Very much recommend it.

She got sunset on her breath
Have had a magical week back in California.. Been keeping a low profile before all of the madness of New York and school. Savoring some last few days of the summer sun..
Some of my favorite parts of the state that will always be home...

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.

As I trace the light that flickers through the room
Saw memoryhouse the other night, who played an amazing set that capped off a great show with Twin Sister, Oberhofer and Beauty Feast at the Mercury Lounge. I was captivated by their sound and aesthetic. They not only put out amazing music {and playlists} but I really admire their all around image, which so wonderfully compliments their sound.

come out to meet me, run out to meet me
Have had apartment hunting on the brain ever since I landed at JFK... Am really really hoping it is all over, found a really amazing place in the most beyond perfect location in the East Village, so everyone cross your fingers for me! While I wait to hear if we got the place, I will have to bide my time mulling over the hundreds of inspiration photos I have stored, I love thinking about a fresh slate...
Though I won't have nearly this much space, its so much fun thinking about new spaces and how you will fill them, and subsequently live in them!

It will always seem like a glowin' dream
A little summer playlist of some appropriate tunes for the long, languid days of summer..
{Meaning lots and lots of reverb}
Enjoy these last beautiful days of my favorite time of year.. An NY summer is nothing like in California, though I feel like the weather this summer has been a little off for those of us on both coasts, one too hot and the other too cool.
These hot, sweaty days just ooze mystery and are a great cause for contemplation. They make me long for some kind of reprieve, and not in the form of air conditioning. I'm looking forward to a little vacation time spent back in California with the family, this summer flew by way too quickly with lots of work and preparing for my move, so it feels a little surreal to be going back, but hopefully I can cling to a couple last beach days before we all change up our shoes from sandals to boots, and tank tops to sweaters...
