Ah Brooklyn, Brooklyn take me in.

Some pictures of my recent adventures in Brooklyn. What a stunning time of year in the city. All of the newly bloomed blossoms, sunshine, optimism. I couldn't get enough of the contrast of the ephemeral, delicate flowering trees and the insanely gorgeous architecture. And all of the contrasting colors. These below were from Erika's favorite tree that is truly special. Just growing in someone's backyard, amidst trash and overgrown weeds..

Had such an amazing time in NYC. Saw lots {and lots!!} of art, really good and of course, pretty bad. I am still mulling over everything I saw and trying to let it all gel for a while, but I'm thinking something major about it all. I've been in a funk since I got back, kind of an NYC hangover. I find myself missing it all, the never-ending action, the subways, the people, the little restaurants, walking everywhere, the great music, and of course my wonderful friends, my tribe. Now, to be sure these things can be found in LA. But I have to admit, and this takes a lot being a Southern California girl born and bred, there is a pulse in New York, that LA lacks. Like a collective hear beat that brings together all of the elements of the city, the people, food, music, art, architecture etc. Whereas in LA we are all kind of going along at our own frenetic paces, between all of these disparate elements. It's odd, when you think of it like that it makes you feel a little lonely.

Or maybe its just that I'm missing some very special people.

Either way, its a beautiful time of year and I hope everyone is enjoying it, whichever coast you may be closest too.

{p.s. I can't really contain it. Last night I received the big envelope in the mail. You know the ones if you've ever applied to schools. I got in to the grad school I really wanted to attend. So that means I won't have to miss NYC permanently, and will be there soon enough- all of me! Not just out of a suitcase... So, so happy that all of the hard work paid off.}

Enjoy...
