moats and boats and waterfalls...

This has been one of my favorite songs for a while now. You know it's good when it really sticks.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros- Home

The video is really wonderful and perfectly fitting for the song. I've been big on this idea of a "tribe" since reading Kelly Cuttrone's book. Before you go and judge me based on my reality-television influenced reading material, let me just say it was an incredible read. Probably because I am its sole intended demographic, but there were lots of wonderful things on finding yourself, your passion and your calling, and how to make that happen. One of her biggest things was finding your tribe. I instantly fell in love with this idea. Its so true. She describes it as a group of people, can be friends, lovers, mentors, comrades whatever, but just people that inspire you to be the best you. Whether thats creatively, emotionally, whatever floats your boat, just surround yourself with people that drive you and fill your heart with love and mind with ideas. I think this is extremely important at any age, but especially in your 20's when you are trying to build who you are and what impact you want to make in this world. I feel like I have found some very strong tribe members, and "tribal elders" if you will, and I look forward to those that I have yet to meet. I think this song also encapsulates this mentality. I love the image of jetting off with my tribe to the middle of no where in flowy dresses, parasols and fedoras, armed with nothing but love and some musical instruments...
