lose our shirts in the fire tonight

Came across this video from we are the masses.. The description from their website says it best..

"Hunter’s Hide‘ is the majestic new work from director Benjamin Kutsko.  Filmed entirely in wilds of Big Sur, CA, this is first official video for the band, Fawnhawk.  The origin of Kutsko’s vision stems from a walk through a mossy green forest.  He imagined Peticia, the lead singer of Fawnhawk, walking through the landscape in a red cloak.  Inspired by the song’s lyrics, Kutsko began to weave together a story about the hunter and the prey and innocence lost.  The unique aspect of this video is the care and excellence of it’s execution and the completeness of the director’s vision.  The impeccable images shot by cinematographer David Myrick are worthy of a great Russian film.  You can sense Kutsko’s discerning eye in the heartfelt performances from Wyatt Denny and the child actors.  Casting the wolves just right was another important detail that lead Kutsko and producer Jack Richardson to The Shadowland Foundation, a non-profit organization that  allows children to safely interact with the beautiful creatures.  The Shadowland Foundation moto actually mirrors the sentiment of Kutsko’s story :

“Everything we have created has been designed with children in mind. They are the pioneers and guardians of our future and armed with the truth, we know, they will certainly bring peace and harmony to our planet, forever. We see this happening in our lifetime.”

So, so beautiful... Benjamin Kutsko is kind of a mad genius,
as also seen here..

They walked over the oceans in their dreams...

This makes me incredibly happy.

We got another thing coming undone

This is one of my all time favorite Selby shoots - It's the home of Lyndsay Caleo, a goldsmith and interior designer, and Fitzhugh Karol, a wood worker and interior designer. {P.S. what more could you need in a couple than one who works with gold and the other wood? Amazing} This home truly leaves me breathless- the mixture of raw wood, natural materials, and vintage patinas all against a crisp, beautiful white canvas creates for a stunning and serene living space. I love the moments of whimsy as well, like in the bathroom, and their utility for creating nooks of intrigue. It's rare to see a home look so calculated and perfectly curated, all the while coming across as so completely liveable and inviting.

Swoon.

p.s. of course I checked out her jewels and they are equally breathtaking.

it sees in you the untouchable

Seeing as it's the longest day of the year, and summer has officially began, thought I would share some beautiful images to get you in the right frame of mind..

Can't wait for days that seem to last forever and then dissipate into the night.. Warm, balmy summer breezes, the smell of jasmine and orange blossoms, and of course the crisp ocean air under an endless blue sky. Flimsy silk dresses, afternoon picnics, glasses of ice cold wine enjoyed on the grass, concerts under the stars... Ahh sweet, sweet summer.

The eyes neglect to see what the heart pursues

Finally had a free moment to peruse the Resort 2011 collections, and the one I {along with any woman of decent taste} was most anxiously awaiting was Celine. Pheobe Philo can do no wrong, and her most recent collection is yet another testament to this. These clothes are fierce, wearable and almost painfully beautiful all at once. Wishing I was a successful power woman traipsing around NYC, spending my winter vacations in somewhere exotic and sunny so that I may have a reason {and the means} for this wardrobe to be all mine.

And p.s. can't ignore the beautiful room the showing took place in, how gorgeous are those walls? Such a lovely contrast to the stark lines of the clothes. Sigh...

And if you can be happy with me, I'll be happy to be myself

Off to the Make Music Festival in Pasadena to jam out to some sweet tunes in the hot summer sun- does it get much better? Hopefully going to catch Warpaint, the Antlers, and maybe if I'm lucky Matt & Kim, the Growlers and Voxhaul Broadcast, but I'm afraid that might be a little too ambitious.

Heres Warpaint's stunning video for Stars, followed by the Antler's Bear, for all those who can't be there.

You said I came close as anyones come

Came across this spread in 944 magazine while biding my time at the car wash and was blown away by the subtle beauty and tranquility of Harper Smith's photos. Gotta love a strong jawline and an even stronger brow, plus a feathered headdress...

I think the spread goes quite lovely with the tunes of Real Estate, no?

And some more of Harper Smith's gorgeous work-
